Beer Candied Bacon

What would happen if the best of both worlds were to collide in some cataclysmic crazy collision, well you might get beer candied bacon. What can possibly be better than simply combining two of man’s most favorite foods and drinks, I just can’t really think of any.

Candied beer bacon is such an easy idea, but it’s such a great snack or appetizer. You combine your bacon, your brown sugar, and your favorite beer to get a crisp snack ready for any party.

The following recipe is one that we found on the Internet, as most people tend to have their little twists on recipes. We did find that most recipes for beer candied bacon have some main ingredients found in all.

You essentially need bacon, beer, and brown sugar. If you want to add spices, feel free, if you want to experiment, feel free. You really cannot mess up this recipe, so have at it and see what you come up with.

Beer Candied Bacon Recipe

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp beer (try your favorite)
  • 1 lb quality bacon
  • Pinch of black pepper

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine brown sugar and beer in a small bowl, whisking well to form a thin syrup. Set aside.
Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire cooling rack on top. Place the pieces of bacon on top of the rack, overlapping if necessary. Place in oven and cook for 10 minutes.

Remove from oven and brush one side of the bacon with the beer syrup. Flip, and coat the other side with the syrup as well. Return to oven and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from oven, and repeat process another time or two more, until bacon is crispy and browned, and you’ve used all the glaze.

Cool on wire rack for at least 1 hour before serving. Once they cool, it will harden and hold form. Serve in a pint glass.
