It was recently announced that the game has been delayed slightly, but it seems to be for great reasons. We had been expecting the typical fall release, which you will often see with new games.
The reason they have for pushing the release until early 2015 was so they could add more innovative features, which really should excite us all.
“We moved it because we thought that more innovation could go in the game” – Andrew Wilson
Do we really want a game that is not finished? Or a game that is pushed to simply meet the fall release date only to have it be filled with tons of issues and bugs? No, we do not! I find the news of them moving the date out as more of a positive event than a negative one.
So while many fans can see this delay as being bad, I see this as a chance for them to make sure the game works. We all really just want a game that is not buggy, is fun, and it works like it is supposed to. Aren’t we all tired of gaming companies merely pushing out products that aren’t ready simply to meet dates? Yes.
I am hoping that we do eventually get some update on to the innovation they are thinking of which caused the early 2015 release, but until then we can only guess.
